At Scarlet Oak Lagotti we are passionate about our Lagotti, they are our friends and our companions.
Our breeding animals have had genetic testing, eye certifications and hip and elbow x-rays. We only breed healthy dogs that are clear of any genetic diseases. We carefully asses temperaments to help families choose the right dogs for their homes.
We are hobby breeders only having one or two litters a year, dedicated to preserving the integrity of this ancient breed.
Lagotti are in the sporting class of dog breeds and require both physical and mental exercise. They are incredibly smart and easy to train, but require consistency, with rules and boundaries. Like people, no two dogs are the same. Some are meek and mild, while others can be headstrong and difficult. No matter the personality of the pet, it’s important as pet owners to foster a growth mindset; always looking for ways we can learn and grow alongside our animal companions.
Owning a dog is a commitment to that animal for its whole life. We take that commitment seriously when finding the perfect homes for our pups and make sure prospective homes agree with that philosophy.
Lagotti are considered an intermediate breed and not recommend for an inexperienced dog owner. They require professional grooming every six to eight weeks and lots of love and attention.

A Quality Dog Breeder
Scarlet Oak Lagotti is a celebrated Dog Breeder based in SW Washington State. We began breeding Lagotti in 2019, with a focus on breeding healthy dogs as companions, family pets, therapy dogs, sporting partners.
We have learned a lot about this breed in the time we have had them, and love to share that knowledge with their new families. We work carefully with prospective families to find a pup with just the right temperament for their homes.
Our goal is to make the transition from our loving home to yours as easy as possible.
We strive to breed the best animals we can, educate their new owners and ensure these precious creatures get the love, care and attention they deserve.

At Scarlet Oak Lagotti, we continue to care about our animals long after they leave us. As such, it’s our strict policy to only sell to individuals; we will never sell to pet shops or brokers. To make sure our animals get the forever home they deserve, we carefully interview all potential owners. We help educate and mentor new families as their puppies grow.
